The resort opened on December 15, 2010, and is located just south of the Bellagio on the west side of Las Vegas Boulevard. With a modern vibe and quirky amenities—like cigarette machines that have been repurposed to dispense art pieces—the Cosmopolitan, open since 2010, provides a welcome respite from the gimmicks of other hotels on the Strip. High-end rooms feature wraparound private terraces with skyline views. The property is also a mecca for foodies with 20 restaurants and seven bars and lounges—including the famous Chandelier, a three-story bar situated inside a stunning crystal light fixture. Along with hosting four premier venues: STK, Beauty & Essex, CliQue Bar & Lounge, and Marquee Nightclub.
The ENCORE
Encore Las Vegas is a luxury resort, casino and hotel located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The resort is connected to its sister resort, Wynn Las Vegas; both are owned by Wynn Resorts. The resort offers award-winning restaurants, exciting entertainment and nightlife, a pristine 18-hole golf course, two award-winning spas, salons and luxury shopping. Encore has been awarded the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since opening. The Tower Suites at Encore and The Spa have both received the Forbes Travel Guide five-star award.
Encore Las Vegas and its sister property, Wynn Las Vegas collectively hold more Forbes five-star awards than any other casino-resort in the world and it is considered to be one of the finest hotels in the world. Together with adjacent Wynn Las Vegas, the entire Wynn complex has a total of 4,750 rooms, making it the world’s seventh-largest hotel.
Where To Dine:
BARMASA
Entering this austere room with its darkened vaulted ceiling, one feels instantly at ease—it’s like joining a sophisticated nighttime picnic in an urban backyard. The first Las Vegas restaurant by star chef Masa Takayama is heaven for fans of Japanese cuisine. Takayama prepares the finest in fresh fish—only those that have been out of Japan’s coastal waters 24 hours or less will do. Inside Barmasa is a teppan eatery, Tetsu, the first of its kind by Masa.
LAGO
James Beard-winning chef Julian Serrano already serves fine French cooking at Bellagio’s Picasso and modern Spanish at Aria, so it is only fitting that his next Strip foray should tackle Italy. At Lago, he does just that in a stunning setting overlooking the Bellagio fountains. The menu takes a page from Spain with tapas-style small plates. However, the flavors are deliciously and distinctly Italian. Think mini pizzas, salmon crudo with crispy capers, short rib-stuffed cannelloni and shrimp in a white wine sauce with spicy peppers. Mix and match into your own ideal tasting.
TWIST
From the moment you step inside, Twist is breathtaking. There’s the view from the 23rd floor of Mandarin Oriental, the lights of Las Vegas spread out beneath you. There’s the airy dining room, with its glass orb chandeliers and serene decor. And there’s the food—modern French cuisine that seems to transport you inside the inventive mind of Michelin-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire. Trying to anticipate how a dish will arrive is a losing game here. Best to pick an ingredient that strikes you, langoustine or Colorado rack of lamb—or opt for one of the tasting menus and trust yourself to the artists in the kitchen.
Where To Party:
OMNIA
Omnia takes over the always popular Pure Nightclub space with so many different venues inside, you’ll never get tired of partying here. The prestigious Rockwell Group is creating a seductive ultra-lounge, a high-energy main room and mezzanine, as well as a breathtaking rooftop garden with panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip. The three-level venue covers 75,000sqft and includes an outdoor terrace with a wide panoramic view of the Strip. The club is so big it not only more than doubles the size of PURE, but it also takes over the former poker and World Series tournament rooms at Caesars Palace.
The main attraction here isn’t the ridiculously high-paid DJs like Calvin Harris and Afrojack. It’s the high-tech chandelier that is made from eight oval rings and hangs over the main room of the club. It’s truly insane and looks like a spaceship is landing over the dance floor. It’s 22,000 pounds and moves at four feet per second. Along with beautiful people Omnia is a nightlife venue that caters to everyone looking to have a Epic night out.
MARQUEE
Marquee is the premiere spot at The Cosmopolitan is notorious for its dayclub, an exclusive adult oasis you’ll likely recognize for its crystal blue swimming pool with bikini-decked bodies packed like sardines. After guests have successfully dehydrated themselves in the daylight hours (thanks to both sun and cocktails), they can celebrate round two at Marquee’s nightclub, where international house music DJs have year-round residencies.
While there are plenty of celebrity guests for special events, you’re more likely to come here for a wild night partying and dancing with famous DJs. A number of different rooms keep things interesting, including a “library” and a fun circular dance floor. There’s also a pool that stays open during the cold winter months thanks to a temporary dome that’s built on top.
