The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (Arabic: سباق جائزة أبوظبي الكبرى) is a Formula One motor race. It was Formula One’s first ever day-night race, starting at 17:00 local time. Floodlights used to illuminate the circuit were switched on from the start of the event to ensure a seamless transition from daylight to darkness. Subsequent Abu Dhabi Grands Prix have also been day-night races.

One of the most remarkable things about New York City is its ever-changing landscape from the Upper East Side to the Financial District, you’ll find everything from ornate pre-war buildings to sleek glass-encased towers, with new developments representing a wide variety of architectural styles popping up every day.

Luxury watches are like the vehicles of the fashion industry. Once paid for, there is a high probability of depreciation. This does not mean a watch cannot be a good investment. It does mean your watch should be seen as what it is: a piece of jewelry meant to accessorize your wardrobe and keep time.
With that in mind, what speaks to you? Which timepiece would you most proudly display on your wrist every day?
Just to clarify right away, there are not many a Grand Tourer as potent as Bentley’s GT. The slick, muscular design of the body, from those flared wheel arches to the signature front grille and lights just set it completely apart from everything else. It’s that rare beautiful sight you might just get to see out on the roads once in a while.
Well, with the top down, that takes the flamboyancy of this particular model to another level. You will be both seen and heard.
Hope everyone had a great summer this year. I wanted to wait before sending out our newsletter because it gives me an opportunity to talk about our event with Elite Traveler at the Baccarat Hotel.
One of the things I would like to talk about is community. What is the luxury community? Is it companies or individuals who call themselves a luxury company? Or is it really a community that’s there to help each other at a certain level which people recognize as luxury?
From the success of our event, I can see that the people/companies at the top tier of the food chain are all about community and helping each other. They’re confident about their brand and confident in terms of what they do and how they do it. On the contrary, there are people that think they are luxury companies because they have the concept or idea of being in luxury due to mass market acceptance. People will believe whats put in front of them when it’s from media and advertising. When I say that, let’s call it what it is; private jet companies who think they are part of the luxury community.
Private jet companies are there to have a service and most of the time at a discount for people who fly privately. Just because you are an expensive company that does not mean you are part of the luxury community. The perfect example of this is Net Jets. Several years ago they were the top tier luxury private jet company to go to. Fast forward to the present and they’re now trying to find their place in the industry. The company was never very creative and has become very boring for a lot of reasons. Their competitors are trying to go in the right direction by offering clients the whole experience package of flying privately; not just giving you a marquis jet card and saying you have arrived.
There’s also the other side of the private jet industry with companies like Jet Smarter, who think they are part of our luxury community, but aren’t even close to the neighborhood. Just because you give discounted flights by private jet doesn’t necessarily mean that you belong in the luxury community. Basically, you’re a private jet company that provides the same service as greyhound. You just have a more expensive ticket.
Companies who are truly in the luxury community are confident in what they do and will help other companies they recognize. These companies are willing to open the door to help people and are not worried about commercializing their brand to make it seem like we’re on the discount program. Companies such as Ovando, Louis Vuitton, and as much as I hate to say it Hermes.
I was able to see all of this firsthand as we were planning the event with Elite Traveler at the Baccarat Hotel. Some companies just don’t get it, but there are a lot of companies who do get it and do it at the highest level.
A special tribute to the Baccarat hotel, who hosted the M Level client over the 12 days of the US Open. Their service was impeccable. The details to what they performed as a luxury company were above and beyond. This is what our community is all about. Not discounted private jet flights for people who can’t even get into VIP events.
I think it’s very cool that brands who are extremely confident never really change. The only changes that they make are based on social media and how they present themselves outside of the gates of our community. It’s too bad that some people think they are part of this community when they can’t even find the keys to the gate that open the door. Maybe companies like Net Jets can dust themselves off and try to make a comeback. The new kids on the block like Jet Smarter can learn, but they still have a long way to go.
I want to thank everyone who came out that night for Paris In New York. I truly appreciate the companies such as Jacob & Co., Rosan Diamond, Baccarat Hotel, Ovando, and Elite Traveler, for this is what our community is all about; true luxury at the highest level. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and we look forward to seeing everyone soon.
Grilling out, hot dogs and beer-hugging koozies may be staples of the all-American barbeque, but they are hardly the makings of an upscale event. When you have access to a rooftop venue as glamorous as the one found atop The Baltic, Park Slope’s newest destination for luxury living in New York City, it only seems appropriate to ditch the traditional grill-out garb for items that exude a bit more elegance.
The azure blue waters of the Aegean Sea influence every inch of Il Riccio Beach House & Restaurant—a seaside hotel and restaurant in Bodrum, Turkey that opened in June. The predominately white color palette within the inn is accentuated with blue wooden tables, hand-painted majolica tiles, and curvaceous interiors—design elements that seamlessly mirror the sea.
